Are you actually listening to the universe? Is there a bigger / wider force pushing you in a direction that you should be going?
My Self-Help Journey
For the last 11 years, I have been absorbing a lot of self-help books. Books that focus on different aspects of one’s life. Finances, mindset, business and others have been my go to for such a long time. This have been helpful in my journey against a narcissistic upbringing, a different blog post, but they are also been a double-edged sword. Combined with the “hustle” culture I was fixated on a long time ago, these were all consuming but also freeing. Am I with millions and driving a sports car ? Nope, but for the past few years that has been OK.
But for the last 6 months, a shift in my mindset has occurred. I have been noticing something I would like to dub the “universe” calling to me. Just to be frank, this isn’t a whoo whoo type of post. I am not a religious person, but I do feel stuff happens for a reason.
One thing I have been doing more of recently is listening to this “universe” and noticing the pattern.
Are algorithms actually what I am hearing?
For the past 3 months, my consumption of content has been around business, quite quitting, doing my own thing … all pumped into my view by the YouTube algorithm. YouTube is the only “social media” I regularly consume. And this is obviously being fed to me by a system… or is it actually the universe?
Is how I am feeling today actually the universe targeting me to do something bigger? Is it because I am able to listen more I am actually allowing this to impact my mindset? What would happen if I didn’t do anything, didn’t respond to this shift, would my consumption change?
What am I going to do about it?
So, I have this “universe” telling me to make more content, to put myself out there more, to be more visible. This is something I am going to do.
I will be kick-starting my YouTube in the coming weeks. I have just been very much on the fence with what to make videos about. I’ve had lots of conflicting narratives!
- Create a YouTube for 1 niche / create one without a niche and find what works
- Make a video that solves a problem
- Just start recording
I feel, for me, I just need to start. I have footage (from our recent Efteling trip) that I am going to practice with. Learning Davinci Resolve. But I will be recording other footage as well for my own thing.
To hopefully escape the rat race, to do my own thing!
