I've Been Tap Dancing Since I Was Eight

I’ve been tap dancing since I was eight. Not many people in tech / cyber security lead with that.

Welcome to my little place in the world where I talk about what I want.

As you might have seen, I have been at the London Stock Exchange Group now for the past 6 years. Always in cyber security but had the opportunity to move roles internally. My current role gives me the opportunity, not just to create things (allowing me to explore my creative side), but to also change culture.

Human risk is one of the hot topics currently. As technology is becoming more secure and AI is being more weaponised. Protecting the human is one of the most important things any organisation can do. We, as humans, need to know how to protect ourselves and this is why I love being able to influence and change cultures with what I do.

I’ve also got 18 years in tech behind me. So instead of just being focused on the person, I am also focused on the customer, I understand the tech, I can speak to whoever I need to at a level they understand.

The real reason I do it

Why I am doing this, is to not just influence an organisation but I want to influence my kids in being safe online. I know it’s a dangerous world out there and if I can do my bit, I feel I have done well.

This has naturally helped me explore opportunities like STEM Ambassadors here in the UK, where I have had the opportunity to deliver a TED-style talk to 350 children about social engineering.

Things like this mean so much to me.

Off the clock

When I am not working my main focus is my family. Married with 2 kids and I couldn’t be more happy. When I am not playing dad taxi, I love reading/audiobooks (currently addicted to the Dungeon Crawler Carl audiobooks) and immersing myself in the latest PS5 game.

What this site is

This site is mine. Something I can use to dip my toe into different areas. Showcase what I am working on, talk about topics I enjoy and try new things.

Always happy to chat, come and say hello!
